Some things get better with age, like a fine wine or, more appropriately, a piece of scrap copper that continues to appreciate.

Other things, however, need a little TLC!  You might imagine that a building like our scrap yard warehouse facility (and office) takes a constant beating, with the daily inflow of trucks, debris, and non stop activity.

So… we recently gave our building a bit of facelift, including a huge new sign!

We painted the entire exterior to clean things up a bit, and added a nearly 40 foot “Smith Iron & Metal Co, Inc” sign, showcasing our motto…”Get Weighed and Get Paid!”

Now: we realize this doesn’t matter all that much to most of our customers.  What do you care about? Getting weighed and getting paid, of course! But, for those of us who drive into work at 530am and spend 10-12 hours each day, 6 days a week making sure you get paid quickly and appropriately for your scrap metal…a fresh coat of paint and a brand spanking new sign are welcome upgrades!

For those of you who have driven by our location on 3000 Bells Road hundreds if not thousands of times and wondered “what is that building?,” you now have no excuse!  Our new sign is clearly visible from the street.  Point being? We don’t want to hear “Oh! I didn’t know you were there!” ever again! Not to mention our large sign on the street….but that’s another story.

For our customers, all you need to remember is that every time you drive in and see that big green sign, you’ll probably be driving out with big pile of green in your hand!  Enough said.
